St. Wenceslav of David Černý - demolished myth

Artist David Černý reinterpreted the St Wenceslas myth in his provocative 1999 sculpture showing the saint seated on the belly of a dead horse. The work was first placed at the lower end of Wenceslas Square and is now suspended under the glass roof of the Lucerna Palace. According to the often-repeated note, it is meant to hang there until a constitutional monarchy is restored in the lands of the Bohemian Crown.
